The Solution
In 2023, the PTA generously allocated $15,000 of total net proceeds earned from Clayton Rocks! Spring Event to kick-off this project. We agreed that going forward, CLIP is a separate 501(c)3 fundraising organization solely dedicated to Clayton's outdoor recreational areas. Why? This is to address long-term capital improvements and will require tremendous effort, time and resources from our community.
Near-Term Goals:
- New shade canopy within the Pre-K/Kindergarten playground – one of the metal poles have broken off and there is no canopy to shade from the hot Texas sun
- Update playground equipment in the Pre-K/Kindergarten playground – currently there are two sad swings without shade that are deteriorating
- Resurface the blacktop basketball court
Long-Term Goals with Largest Capital Requirements:
- Install proper drainage solutions to prevent unsafe drainage conditions and erosion issues around the playground. This will divert water, mud, and soil away from the playground and gaga pit.
- Level the dirt field and playground area to support proper drainage and prevent future erosion
- Replace current dirt field with grass OR artificial turf, if allowed by City of Austin/AISD
- Repair and install sprinkler system on back of campus and dirt field
- Add gravel track around back of campus
- Add water refill station
- Replace gaga pit

You can donate using a Credit Card, ACH bank transfer, Apple Pay or Google Pay - (processing fee applies). To avoid processing fees, you can drop off a check in the school main office during school hours, donate via Zelle to claytonlandscapingproject@gmail.com or initiate an ACH/wire/bank transfer from your bank. Receipts can be provided by paper or email.
